A dry slip can be used to store your boat during the off-season months or when not in use for long periods of time. The preferred type of dry slip is an indoor storage unit. It is by far the ultimate in boat protection —aside from bubble wrap and duct tape. However, there are dry boat slips known as a “rack storage” where boats are housed in a slotted tier system; both are confined in a covered and secure structure. However, rack storage requires an over-sized forklift to move the boat in and out of the slip, which means waiting for your boat to be brought down anytime you want to use it.
